Description
The Beatles rock ‘n roll sound was iconically altered in the 1960’s by a new sound: that of the sitar. Its introduction to their classic sounds was born of a mentorship between George Harrison and maestro Ravi Shankar. The collaboration lead to an expansion in understanding of classical Indian music and culture in the United States, England, and beyond.
Blackwing’s Volume 3 is a tribute to this marriage of sounds on Ravi Shankar’s 100th birthday. It features extra-firm graphite, matte turmeric finish, and accents in a pattern combining a sitar and the ॐ (Om) sign. Replacement erasers are available in a variety of colors. Each sturdy and beautifully designed box includes one dozen pencils.
